Mata Awhinuku Whakapakihi— General Manager Commercialisation
Hamish is responsible for managing Wellington UniVentures’ Intellectual Property Commercialisation team as they work alongside innovative researchers at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington to bring ideas with the potential to create impact out into the world where it can have the most benefit.
He brings a wealth of commercialisation experience to the role having worked in management roles for Otago Innovation, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and, most recently, as the General Manager, Commercial and International, for the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR).
Born in the far North—but currently enjoying being a Wellingtonian—Hamish holds a double degree in Management and Psychology from the University of Auckland, and a DipGrad in Accounting from the University of Otago.
