Kathleen joins Wellington UniVentures with a varied background working on socially focused initiatives in both New Zealand and the UK. Her work has heavily involved supporting community driven projects across a range of industries, including commercial property, social housing, software start-ups, economic development projects, education and most recently in addressing issues around unemployment for those with a disability.
In her role as Head of Social and Creative at Wellington UniVentures, Kathleen leads and manages our Social and Creative team to create impact and commercial outcomes from Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington’s research. Kathleen supports the team to identify social enterprise commercialisation activities as well as commissioned research opportunities with external parties.
Kathleen’s interests lie in enriching communities and supporting businesses so they can benefit Aotearoa New Zealand and the world. Her work has brought people together for social and environmental impact and it’s something that she will bring into this role too.
Kathleen has three children and over the years has enjoyed exploring the world with them. Now they are getting older, Kathleen is heading off on more solo adventures and has toured around Taiwan on a bike and recently hiked the Queen Charlotte Track.
